hey great vid but 2 questions 1 do u need to put the sylicone? and also have u heard of the way of loking it by adding to spyder gears instead of welding? and does that work as well thx

@pumkinchunkin You only need to use the silicone sealant if you want to keep what's in in, and what's out out, which is all cases is true. And the other method works with certain transmissions. Which ones it works on I don't know. I know it doesn't work on this one.

What kinda tractor is this trans out of? Craftsman? murray? looks pretty solid. ive gone threw too many transmissions :P

@arild365 It's from a Murray Widebody LT with a Briggs 14.5 OHV and 42" deck. Not sure about the actual model number or year.

is this the same for hydrostatic transmissions?

@Smallgasengine1 I would assume so. The hydro part is all separate from the differential so the differential should be the same. But I've never taken a hydro apart so I'm not sure what's involved.
