The Meydan LLC Board of Directors comprises of Mr Saeed H Al-Tayer, Mr Ahmad Al Shaikh and Mr Malih Lahej Al Basti.

The Meydan office has also opened, and is located on the first floor of the Millennium Grandstand at Nad Al Sheba racecourse: Telephone 04-3270000 and Fax 04-3270007.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Meydan was officially launched on the eve of the 2007 Dubai World Cup on March 30, and promises to be like no other sporting venue in the world.

The landmark development has a target opening for the 2010 Dubai World Cup meeting and will span 76 million square feet.

It will feature a world-class grandstand and state-of-the-art dirt and turf tracks, and the enterprise will also serve as a major business and conference district.

Other features of Meydan - an Arabic word, which is translated as a place where people congregate and compete - include a world-class hotel, golf course, more than 10 restaurants, covered car parking for 10,000, the Godolphin Gallery and museum, and Dubai Racing Club offices.

Meydan Racecourse is in close proximity to Meydan City - a self-contained community consisting of commercial and residential plots, retail outlets and arcades with canal, waterfront and promenade views.

In addition, the Meydan Board of Directors has appointed Mr Mohammed Al Khayat as Commercial Manager, and Mr Douglas Small as the project manager
