'Akira' Actor Short List Revealed: Who will play "Tetsuo" & "Kaneda"?

Akira fans, Warner's FILM is FINALLY casting. Hear who could be starring in the Flick up next!

Hey There I'm Chelsea Cannell thanks for tuning in to Clevvermovies. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Warner Brothers has started looking for its male Leads for their Live Action Adaptation of the anime graphic novel Akira. It's been two years since the studio acquired the rights which was reportedly a 7 figure payday for the manga's publisher. Now it's time to start casting. The list for the role of Tetsuo looks like this : Robert Pattison, Andrew Garfield and James McAvoy. For the role of Kaneda reports are Garrett Hedlund, Michael Fassbender, chris pine, Justin Timberlake and Joaquin Phoenix have been given the screenplay written by Steve Kloves. Deadline reports that the 2 leads WILL most likely come from this list of names.

The story will take place in a reconstructed New Manhattan where a biker gang leader will be tasked with saving a friend from falling victim to a medical experiment. The film is slated for production in August with Albert Hughes directing. But we all know the casting is CRUCIAL -- so who do you want to see get the gig? @H1dden1s Oh noooo! Garfield - if they had to pick one from the list! And Chris Pine is good too... I like McEvoy too. But it is just wrong to have white actors playing Asian roles. Hollywood is not to be trusted - their intentions are commercial - they won't be true to the story!
