May 19, 2006 Mountain View City Council Medical Marijuana

Another public comment criticizing the Mountain View City Council for their failure to follow the example set by the California Legislature. This was particularly funny, because their excuse was they had no direction from the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, but the Assembly and Senate spoke.

In fact, Assemblywoman Sally Lieber voted in favor of Senate Bill 420, and she was the former mayor of Mountain View before moving on the greener pastures.

Here, Mayor Galiotto opens public comment. I include a snide response from Tom Means about Don Letcher's complaints about the Shoreline Ampitheatre lawsuit.

Then it's Jim Lohse and Jon Lustig whining yet again. Jon and I must have spoken at twenty meetings, just to show our displeasure. We knew at that point that the Council was hopeless, and we learned about the saying, with friends like them who needs enemies. Jon really rips into them here, in his last speech before giving up.
