Bulig Sicogon (help Sicogon)

This is the story of the farmers of Sicogon Island, Iloilo, who are fighting to protect 334 hectares of agricultural land from being encroached by a corporation bent on building a tourism complex. When the legal harassment against these farmers did not work, the corporation through the use of armed goons declared a "Huwes de Kutsiyo" (judgment by the knife) and promised to sow a reign of terror should the farmers continue resisting the tourism project. After the declaration, houses were razed to the ground and crops were destroyed. At least one farmer-leader was killed. Despite this, the farmers still remain committed and persistent, and they commenced an exodus to the City in a march they entitled WALK FOR LAND, LIFE AND DIGNITY. They call not only for their rightful claims to be heard, but also for the passage of CARP with compulsory acquisition.

This is their story.

2nd question.... what in farming do you love so much? has it given you a comfortable life? what if you cooperate with sideco and help establish a world class resort in the island and bring jobs into the island? you could also work in that resort you know.....
