lol, thanks, and i guess that ends our discussion, it's very rare to have a proper none verble abuse, mature discussion these days as people tends to curse and swear outragously out of control. i understand your concern and i thank you for understanding my points. have fun with your convertible when you get it, but make sure not too much fun. personally i would go for a beemer but hey, porsches are always nice too.
You know what? I like you! You may be a chinese guy in Australia who is very far away from me, but you have the courage to enter a discussion and I like that. I think in real life we would be good friends.
I do plan on buying a convertible, but I cannot afford what I want which is either a new MB, BMW or Porsche, so I will probably buy a used one and save some money. I drive very safely and not "enthusiastically", but safety is always a concern. I hope life is good for you in Oz.
sorry i think, i made a mistake, the 2nd generation sc as in the video, i believe is actually joint designed by japanese and european designers. and once again, i agree with you on "one person dying in car is one too many", but come on, think about it, who or what is the most probable cause of a day to day rolling over incident? my advise is, don't buy this car, or any other convertibles for that matters if you don't want to risk your head in case where your enthusiastic driving proves to fail
it's great if you care about people lives, but just a hint, i don't think the people that normally roll over their car care about their lives as much as you care for them. the best way to avoid such thing is not protection incase if it happens, it's eliminating rolling over as a whole. and please notice the difference between the design year and the launch year, cars takes more than a day to design, and this car is designed by lexus amercian studio, i think somewhere in california.
All of the companies that I mentioned had rollover protection on their convertibles at the time Lexus introduced this model, and have had it for many years before. I am not saying only Lexus did this, because american convertibles are like this too for the most part. But Lexus is supposed to be better than most, so there was no excuse for this oversight. Lexus copied MB with the LS, so they should have copied the rollbar too. I am only saying this because I care about peoples lives!
exacty! "the relentless pursuuit of perfection", notice the word "pursuit" and yes this is their company sloga, and i do remember, thank you very much. lexus is about building perfect cars, but as one would say nothing is perfect so the pursuit for perfection will never stop and i think that is why cars after the sc has improved so much, and if you research at the year when this car is actually designed, i think you will find that very few companys has actually got roll protection at the time
You wrote: "yes sc has some design flaw, so what, no human is perfect, right?"
Lexus is supposed to be about "The relentless pursuit of perfection". That is their company slogan, remember? Lexus is all about building perfect cars, the safest cars, the best cars, the most luxury you can get for the money. Well, that means safety too. And no, there is no excuse for them not putting some kind of rollover protection on this car.
One person dying in this car from this is one too many.
you don't get it, do you? if you worry so much about rolling over and use your head to stop the car then don't buy a convertible. no matter how good your rollover protection is in your convertibles, it will not compare up to the hard top's standards. agree with you on the "no human is perfect" but as for acusing lexus as a uncaring company,i would say that you should look deeper into their safety standards on their other cars, yes sc has some design flaw, so what, no human is perfect, right?
You don't seem to get it, do you? There is a reason Mercedes Benz, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Ferrari & Lamborghini ALL have rollover protection on their convertibles: In case of a rollover, the head needs to be protected -End of story.
It doesn't matter what causes the rolloever, it doesn't matter if it's the drivers fault or someone elses. No human is perfect, hence airbags, anti-lock brakes, and all the other devices meant to protect us. Only an uncaring company would refuse to do this.
o ok, please tell me how can you roll over a perfectly perfect normal car by driving nicely and safely. o please don't tell me, im going to get hit by other reckless driver when you are trying to race over a red light while trying to look stylish when top is down... or maybe you want to say the car does not handle well so it some how flips? the truth is rolling over in majority only happens to reckless nut heads that can't drive a car with respect to other public road users
