IIRC WAY back in the 1970's or even '60's a DC-6 was entered in the Unlimited races at Reno, and it was awe-inspiring to watch her do pylon turns with a P-51 struggling to pass her on the outside.
Pilot, co-pilot and engineer on board, all the seats still in her, and a giant Snoopy doll for a passenger.
Footage showing her rotating around the pylons is downright scary.

Brings back lovely memories of flying from London Airport North on a B.O.A.C. "Argonaut" to Bahrein. Long flight with lots of stops on the way.

Thanks Helen , she certainly does look and sound nice and just to make you jealous , i see her quite often as she seems to use Bicester as a nav point [flew over today , must have been going to Lowestoft] :p Although il swap her for the BBMF anyday you lucky so and so :D
