  • Barrett's esophagitis, petic stricture,erosive esophagitis are complications of GERD.  Laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication is reserved for severe or resistent cases to treatement.

  • You mentioned that in long standing GERD we do surgery if there is a dysplasia, Is this even if it's mild dysplasia ? long standing GERD, i assume would lead to Barrett's .
