The past decade has been full of peace and stability as the people of Sierra Leone have striven to make a better country for themselves. International investors are starting to take note. Two large mining companies have set up operation and will be exporting iron ore before the end of 2011. Cocoa and coffee production are increasing and a juice factory has opened up in the new FIRST Step, Special Economic Zone. Sierra Leone's energy supply is increasing as a bioenergy plant is set to open in two years and Joule Africa is planning to build a 400 MW hydroelectric plant within 6 years. The country is proving that doing business in Sierra Leone is not only viable but profitable. Various investors and businessmen are realizing that Sierra Lone is Africa's new investment destination.
