When I was a young man just beginning to learn French in Toronto, I purchased the album "Monique Leyrac en Concert" (1965). Her unforgettable performance of the songs on that album made me fall in love with Monique and with the music of Québec.
This cover of one of the songs from that record is my tribute (hommage) to her.
The singers and songwriters of Québec have given us some of the most beautiful music in the world.
If you have not discovered it yet, you are in for a treat. You will find some of the songs on YouTube. Look for names like Georges Dor, Claude Léveillée, Gilles Vigneault and Félix Leclerc.
And of course, Monique Leyrac. She is a national treasure.

Man, this was odd...you sound so much like my departed dad, I can barely believe it's not him. I wondered briefly if he'd had a Youtube account before 2001...then I saw you posted it in 2009! I also have this amazing LP, which dad or mom would have bought when it was new.
