Test clips shot with Panasonic Lumix TS1/FT1, sports scene mode, AVCHD SH quality (17Mbps). Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.0 editor, rendered w/ Sony AVC codec (4Mbps), saturation and luminosity boost. Sony's AVC codec appears to still target MAC so gamma-adjusted for PC color display.

  • Thank you! That's a great tip. The ghost artifacts were very evident when I rendered with & w/o resampling in Xvid, then viewed the two results frame-by-frame in virtualdub.

I've re-rendered this footage and posted. It does look smoother in HD widescreen.

Still don't understand why the artifacts are there. Its not like Vegas needed to interpolate any new frames since the in/out fps are the same.

  • Here's a Vegas / TS1 tip for ya:

To get rid of the ghosting right click your clips on the time line and choose "disable resample."

This will give it a more smoother progressive look.

    Enjoy your new camera!
