Thats his ghost/spirit, he doesnt know hes dead. look back at 0.53 seconds, he steps in the spilt milk, and walks out of it, but theres only her footsteps, also, it shows a newspaper a couple times that a man dies in a tragic bridge accident. it was him. hope this helps you understand.

@TheSoccerlegand What video were you watching? ...one, he didn't save her life. She got tossed in that accident, and was lucky to be alive. The man who hugged her at the end was dead all along. ...you could say he was her guardian angel, yes, but she had no reason to thank him because all she was concerned about was that she just lost the man closest to her. In his mind he was still there, that is why he kept trying to get her attention.
