We ride what was once a small-width freight elevator, completely overhauled by Dover, in Rotman's Furniture, Worcester, Massachusetts.
Prior to taking over the entire factory from top to bottom, Rotman's was only on the first floor, second floor, where ramps would allow.
There was no need for elevators back then, so these old freighters were not used, until Rotman's started filling up the rest of the buildings. At this point, the freighter, and all it's mechanicals (likely traction), were completely ripped out, replaced with hydraulics, and added a front to the lift, with modern-day doors, as Dover has done with this freighter, converted into a dual-purpose elevator, primarily for passenger use.
You can tell it's a hydraulic, because there is a slight motor sound (not audible in video), as well as the jerky start and stops hydraulics have. The lighting and two-tone scheme remains untouched, as the other passenger elevator (B) is exactly the same, but it's a Worcester Elevator overhaul, with their GAL fixturing, and more narrow doors.

  • why did you put a smiley face on the girls face

  • @88888kitty1

Her identity was perfectly clear. In that case, faces are edited out.

  • I like the colored doors on this one.

  • @myotismon767

The doors on both elevators are painted after the original paint scheme of these freighters.

    Yes, I did. That's next week's upload.

  • @cannycart

I figure that's what you saw in the name (rotting).

I can't come up with a different name, becase it is what it is.

The Rotman Family owns the store.

  • @georgef551 Did you ride that one?

  • @EvanToTheFutureDude

It's an old freight elevator converted over to a passenger one.

There's another elevator converted over, by a completely different company, but the cab is exactly the same.
