great white shark breach from underwater

during one of the dives at 12 metres in the submersible cages, one of the great whites suddently went up and breached as a dominance display towards the other ones! i was lucky to have my camera running at the right moment.
when the shark re-entered the water, it actually made a loud splash noise underwater, similar to the noise it makes when someone wants to dive in a swimming pool but lands flat on its belly. it was clearly audible even from the cages, but didn't got recorded by my camera sadly...
filmed at isla guadalupe onboard nautilus explorer on 1st september 2011.
PS: in case you wonder, yes; it's me you can hear yelling after the breach!

just posted a clip just like this one from the august trip on the nautilus. another diver was able to get a video of the breach topside as well. so much for the whole theory that they only breach in south africa. happy diving!

@SPaige4 oh so you're the one who got the clip on the previous trip; i saw it as well as the corresponding topside shot on the nautilus's mac, i was on the trip just directly after you :-p

Nice, brave of you to enter the waters in Guadalupe....I know that's one of the largest congregation areas for great whites!!

@sandraparlin it was all cage diving onboard the nautilus, so i don't see what's especially brave about it but thanks for the comment. i did stood in the open, on top of the submersible cage a few times though but it still doesn't feel same as free-swimming with the shark :-/
incidentally, the sea escape (one of the other boats that goes at guadalupe) do offer no-cage diving with the whites under certain conditions, but i've never done this... YET.
