This is a damn hard song and me learning it is a work in progress! Apologies for the video quality. Let me know what you think!

  • It is very hard to learn. No offence, but you're playing the verse part slightly wrong...

  • Hey man. Yes I'm getting it totally wrong but I had to work it out myself and that was the best I could do! Been off youtube for a long time but I'm gonna try to get hold of this proper version and do it properly soon. Cheers for the comment.

  • Hey. Dunno the scale really cos I don't do music theory... the intro bit is played on the 1st fret which I'd hazard a guess is F? Then on the verse it goes right up the neck and starts on 8th fret of the A string. Hell yeah I know Toby, he's a good mate of mine! How'd you know him?

  • Very very good, I also would like to see the tab for this if possible!

  • Hi, thanks! I don't think there is a tab for this unfortunately. I've been looking for one for years and this video is just what I've worked out by ear. I just enjoy playing it :) If you find a proper tab let me know!

  • Great!

  • Thank you! I'm still practising it and I'm getting better but not quite there yet! :)

  • "Hit me with your rythm stick" is all about someone traversing the globe at his own discretion and leisure and taking in and appreciating all the musical tendancies and beats and rythms that all of humanity has to offer. [In case some still don't have it figured.].

  • Great work squire! Maybe you could do an update two years on...?

  • Full respect fella!

  • Have to take you to task there my friend. As great a soloist and composer that Jaco was, he was a GREAT groove player.

BTW: Norman quotes a snippet of (Jaco/Weather Report tune) Teen Town in the Rythym Bass line!
