I smoked Old Gold when I joined the Army in 1975. I learned quickly that if you smoked Marlboro or Winston, you'd have a lot of people always wanting one of yours, That was known as OP cigarettes (other people's). Soon as I switched to Old Gold, no one bothered me.

In some song, they sing "smoking Old Gold Cigarettes", but I can't remember the song! Seems like it was one of Steeley Dan's songs?? Anybody remember?

@MoosicandCritters - The closest thing I could find was "smoking Cobalt cigarettes" from Steely Dan's song "King of the World".

I'm not a smoker, nor do I plan on becoming one, but I have to admit, those commercials are entertaining. Even the way cigarettes were taken out of the packs was a lot cooler than just flipping open the box (in a classic sense, I guess?).
With that aside, I don't recommend anyone smoke any time soon. Not the healthiest stuff out there.
