This is a conversation on PM between me and a Christian friend and supporter of Proposition 8.

  • It's amusing how people become so dishonest when it comes to this. Simply be honest and say that you're against same-sex marriage because of your religious conviction. Oftentimes they're unaware that they're being dishonest, because the stock answers (tradition, procreation, etc.) are so saturated into people's minds. They (some) fail to realize they only support following tradition in some cases and support procreation only when same-sex couples come into question.

  • @geeboteeps You make an interesting point. A lot of people do think that the population is too large, yet they use procreation as a weapon against homosexuality as if the need to expand the population were still as great as in biblical times.

  • @PestigeKelpone LOL! I should have stopped it right at that little burp and started over! :^)

  • @Largo64 Yeah. It's silly. I made a video about it (I make text videos) awhile back, responding to the Minnesota bill to constitutionally ban same-sex marriage. I covered procreation and tradition.

  • @PestigeKelpone thank you for the support you are very well educated

  • Yeah I never could figure out what the threat to marriage was by letting lgbt people marry. It's just more inclusive. Straight married people act as if there is some pool of "married" money out there that the gays just got a piece of. It's absurd.

Besides, if you look at the divorce rate amongst straight people, we see just how much their sacred institution means to them; next to nothing.

  • @PestigeKelpone XD funny

I understand your hesitance to insult a friend, and I know you're reluctant to call out her idiocy because you've likely seen other more rational sides of her. But anyone with beliefs like these is an idiot. If not, when the hell is the word 'idiot' appropriate?

  • @Atrocitas6 I assure you my friend is not an idiot. She just has a different opinion. Sadly, it's the majority opinion in my state.

  • @Largo64 That is the first time that I've seen someone of your age (Not saying your old!) Type out LOL! That has made my day complete aswell as knowing that there is some people in this world who are smart.

  • @Largo64

Hey, thanks. I appreciate it! I've been so busy, I forgot about these posts. Glad to see them alive and kicking!
