  • how many pieces did you do for the base?

that swan is AWESOME by the way :)

  • @PatrickP93 All details given in earlier comments. 11 first rings have 36 pieces, the fundament is 35 pices 3 rings wide. Look from the beginning of the comments.

  • You may use any paper for this type of paperart, I have used glossy paper from magasines for other works. The size of each piece of paper depends mostly on the thickness, the standard european A4 copypaper works nice at 5x10 cm aproximatly - so I found that dividing the 29,7 in 3 and the 20,? in 4 was good.

Other works may use more heavy paper, it works with 5x10 for a 120g paperquality also - uses that for pine cones for christmas decorations.

  • The nice thing with this type of origami is that you can fold all the pieces looking at TV. I think it took me a few evenings in front of the dumb box. Every piece is put in place at once, and after the body was build it was a lot of trial and errors to get the right swung in the wings and neck. It is no drawing or plan for this bird, it just manifested itself sitting on my lap.

  • does anyone know if someone has a tutorial about making this swan, not that regular swan ,but a swan with this type of wings?

  • It may be difficult, the wings just started to grow under my fingers, i needed a few corrections on the way but mainly it was a crazy idea I got while building.

The main thing is to find a way to increase the number - in the normal wings each row is one less the previouse, here they are often equal.

Be creative and try to see in 3D what will happen when you put an odd triangle in place.
