I never met Frank but come from his lineage. Close fighting was how we trained Ah Soo and Numpi. As far as control, hearing all of the sories, Frank was ruthless. He was concerned about creating fighters. Training was to be as close to real as possible. Injuries were common place. Nice to see these old videos.
Hey Tim, you're joking right? Having a ball point pen stuck into the side of your rib cage sure the hell doesn't sound like complete control to me? If we were working out together, and I stuck a ball point pen into your eye, would you think I had complete control? Be serious, would you?
If Mr. Woolsey didnt have control then he would have killed everyone he worked out with. Not being dead tells me he had complete control. Also to say that he didnt teach how to punch in close....uhhh....the Ah Soo 45 comes to mind, pretty close fighitng to me.
From what I have seen, Mr. Woolsey kicks higher then anyone in San Soo and better!!!! Woolsey's high kicks are pure beauty!!!!
