Unless I'm wrong, it wouldn't hurt, almost like putting a ponytail in your own hair.

@jagtech06 The horse's tail hair has been twisted around and tied up around the tailbone of the tail. Basically, it's like a girl putting her hair in a bun- it doesn't hurt, and it keep the hair out of the way so it doesn't get caught on things or get dirty. :)

@MsCountryyGirl12345 There is actually nothing wrong with it. It is simply braided and in a rubber holder. It's for grooming and safety (a tail looks like hay to some horses 0_o)

@MsCountryyGirl12345 they just tied it up, usually do it for castrations and other operations so that it doesnt get in the way
