@xXxWilliExXx Actually this is an effective equalizer as Black if he sticks to a positional system with ...Bb4. Black would have been find had he stuck with traditional Grand Prix development instead of overextending with ...d5. It is difficult for White to use the extra tempo once he is committed to d3. I believe Marin mentions this problem for White in his book on the English. 1.c4 f5 can be an effective move order to transpose to a favorable 1.c4 e5 line if W insists on a Sicilian dvlpmnt.
The opening looked like a Grand Prix attack reversed, which probably isn't good for Black, because the system is hardly even good for White with the extra tempo! I'm no expert, but why not just play your mirror English strategy? You seem to be fairly comfortable with that.
KC: perhaps you should consider the fact, when you are playing blitz you seem to be willing to concede material all the time yet when you play otb you are willing to give up, emotionally, after 8 moves. Eat a banana mate and get your chin up!!!!!
thats exactly what I was thinking..I wonder..

Playing against a high rated opponent. Surprised by 1. g3. Perhaps just play for a draw from the beginning? Petrosian style.

When you were following some rybka moves at 6:56, why not c5? It seems to me like it would at least get rid of his bishop pair.
But I may be missing something...
