@westside26807 You should not be "forced" to believe in any kind of social theory. Schools should be teaching social contract theory in all its forms, and allow the students to choose which theory they want to support.
@westside26807 I am so glad. Sometimes I go crazy because everyone around me seems to believe they have the right to tell me what to do, and what social experiments I must support financially. And they even expect me to be glad that they do.
What bugs me most, is not that they do this, but that they are so comfortable with it that they don't even see any problem with it.
i understand the concept well, but i still dont believe it is right. to assume that people would act the same way today in a situation like people did in the civil war with no government is shallow. also, i believe if it truely is a social contract, then people should decide whether to abide by it or not. meaning that if my school enforces this theory, then its because people attending the school are in favor of it. and if they arent, then the school cant abide by it.
