Middle East Studies Center Teacher Workshop:
People, Power, and Protest: Teaching about Iran

August 5, 2011 Starts: 9:00am Ends: 5:00pm

This workshop will prepared K-12 educators to teach about current forms of protest in Iran including the 2009 Green Revolution, the use of social media, and various forms of pop culture. Through interactive and participatory sessions, teachers increased their knowledge about Iran and explore teaching strategies that encourage students to think critically. Educators received a wide range of resources to support their teaching.
