could i make this and skip the brown sugar?

@mermer3m Hello. Unless there is a health issue with the brown sugar it best wth it. White sugar would work but isn't as rich as the brown (in sweetness). If you dropped the sugar alltogether it would be a bit bitter. You could try as for a marinade it would be okay. As a sauce though most would enjoy the sweetness.
It is a good sauce and something different to try. I picked up the recipe years ago in Asia. Have enjoyed many times. cheers! KtC
