why do people say that George Benson uses his thumb I "don't get it "he hardly ever uses his thumb he uses a pick he does use his thumb sometimes but u are about the 3rd person I have herd say that u must not watch him play much LOL

Unless the chord sounding behind you has a prominent b13, the diminished half/whole is fair game!

Check out a video of him on youtube, he's using a pick. His hands sort of in the same positions as yours, but I guess you're not using his technique because you would know if you were.

No I don't. To my knowledge, George plays totally with his thumb which is amazing. I don't know how he can play the things he does with just his thumb but he does. I use a pick and on occassion some finger mixed in there.
