This is a simple video construction for Maria Daines and Paul Killington's song, Day of Reckoning.
Day of Reckoning was generously written and recorded as a dedication by Maria and Paul in January 2008 for which I am eternally grateful.
This emotionally packed song has brought tears to the eyes of many in our community that have listened and contemplated Maria's lyrics and what they mean to us on a personal level.
I now pass this along to you the viewer / listener with the hope that Maria' lyrics and vocals, and, Paul's music composition and performance gives you pause to contemplate and reflect on how precious life and friendship are to us all.
The image I chose of the burning heart candle flickering amongst red roses may allow you to meditate on our lost loved ones and to remember them in our hearts, souls and minds in loving memory.
Thank you and deep gratitude to Maria and Paul for their compassion, understanding and friendship always.

Best regards, peace, love and respect,
Paul / Zest
For Paul. D. Richmond, aka Zest of Zest Radio Show. This song is a thank you to Zest for making the world a better place but most of all it is a tribute to a man who has been a great friend to many. It is ironic that at the time of recording, Zest lost a dear friend in tragic circumstances. Now, more than ever, friendship is a precious and important part of life.
Love from Maria & Paul xx
Dedicated to Zest
Day of Reckoning
Well I been listenin' hard n' I been wonderin' too much I know it ain't good to think
N' I been tryna figure out this life, this goddam hole we're in
If I should disappear please tell my friends I heard 'em on the radio
Zest he loves those songs he spins I know he wanted the world to hope
But this is hope we're losin' now
Some small sun is goin' down
There's a shadow in the wind
Why do I dread the day of reckoning?
Well there's community n' there's disarray n' one more war to lose
N' we're all on this earth we're people and we have the right to choose
Raise the flag for kinship, never let the evil break you down
There's a home in friendship calling like a mother all around
But this is hope we're losin' now
Some small sun is goin' down
There's a shadow in the wind
Why do I dread the day of reckoning?
Well you an' me we tried our best, gave all we had n' it weren't much
You give your life to change the wrong, you sing the losses not the luck
Call the strength within, without a beggars chance, a killing joke
Day is night, too long to write your world a simple goodbye note.
But this is hope we're losin' now
Some small sun is goin' down
There's a shadow in the wind
Why do I dread the day of reckoning?
So this is hope, we're lost somehow
A tiny sun is going down
N' there's a message in the wind
Why do I dread the day of reckoning?

Powerful lyrics, as usual! And the soulful, pulling at heartstrings voice... Another masterpiece of Maria and Paul! Some lines hit hard: But this is hope we're losin' now / Some small sun is goin' down...
3 weeks tonight that andro's sun went down. I does not get easier...
But I don't think we are losing hope, my friend! As long as people like you and Maria and Paul and a few others are in this world, there is hope! Always! Thank you for posting this, for being a great friend.

I always loved this song and your video presentation provides a great visual mantra with which to internalize and contemplate Maria's great lyrics and Paul's wonderful arrangement and playing. Nice job on this Zest!
