I recently bought one of these and gerber must have done a redesign, mine has a liner lock as opposed to the slide lock and there is no spine, just a series of metal studs connecting the scales together and preventing the blade from folding up and back when in use.

Not too informative. I like this knife. I have one in my pocket presently. It has the one improvement over the original Gerber Cameleon II which had a plastic handle that was made of Zytel, I believe. Now that I know more about Zytel I have greater appreciation for it, but I long awaited one with a metal handle like this. I really like this knife :-)

Here is the deal apparently some were made of plastic and some are not,,,,I got the plastic spined one (chinese made) and that is why Gerber wont fix it. Sorry for the rant I had on the knife. But I still stand on the fact that Gerber has now become a garbage company to me. If i had a good cam right now I would show mine I am going to post vid of it soon as I can cam it up
