As Washington continues its crackdown on undocumented migrant workers, laws in several US states say English is the only language that can be taught.

This has Spanish-speaking students struggling to learn the language while completing the classes they need to graduate.

Al Jazeera's Franc Contreras reports.

  • @morgankitty1 hahaha thats basically 100% true

  • @FantomasMXss hahaha

  • I'm sorry but none of those students are going to return to Mexico. Bullshit.

  • en protesta todos deben evitar hablar ingles. jejejeje el ingles es un idioma de bobos

  • @icutubeify i never said its written anywhere that english is the official language...thank you for acknowledging that people need to know english in order to succeed here

  • @treezX by you, i was responding to what you replied to me previously, and yes i speak both languages as well. and yes i did know that the majority of the population speaks english, but you tell me where its written and where it says that its official and maybe i'll believe you. and people coming to america arent lazy to learn english, they just dont have the resources, cuz its kinda obvious to everyone u need to know english to succeed in this country.

  • @icutubeify how can you say this country is changing from me when you know nothing about me...i speak spanish and english, im not lazy like the people that come here and wont bother to learn english...you know 95% of people in america speak english and you want to tell me its not the official language? thats funny

  • @treezX but who's sayin that this country has an official language? yeah, you can expect that from other countries but this is the melting pot and there never was an official language. English wasn't even the first of the hundreds of languages spoken when this country was founded.

and nevertheless, the country is changing and its gunna keep changing, and it so happens that this country isnt changing for you, its changing from you

  • @icutubeify simple solution...go to mexico where they teach you in spanish...if you go to a different country where they speak a different language you cant expect them to change for you, thats bullshit

  • @whateverplo i dont necessarily believe the government is trying to help by doing this, they are only promoting discrimination against those who are deficient in English. it also goes against the rights of people, which states that it is not appropriate to teach children in a language they cannot understand.
