  • I could listen to this stuff all day. I liked the Firehouse 5 Plus 2 when a kid, then the Dukes of Dixieland. Pete Fountain is great whoever he's with. Can't get enough of it!!

  • Wow !

  • Yes George was the greatest! Leebm29

  • Yes I know Pete is still alive and still playing, good for him and all who love him. I've tried to copy my own clarinet sound to Pete's. A lot of people tell me I sound a lot like him. But there will only be one Pete Fountain.

  • pete is still around...he is 78! and still playing down here in new orleans and mississippi :)

  • Tommy Dorsey was real fond of George Thow's trumpet playing, too ... had to be strong. They had 1 trumpet and 3 trombones in the brother's band!

  • A great song named after a great man, Louis Armstrong.

  • These guys were great. Its a shame they are not around anymore.Pete had the best sound on clarinet of anyone that I know of.

  • George was great, too bad he retired from on air trumpet. He stayed on until the end as an arranger. I remember him playing once in the late 60's and around 73 as a special cameo
