@packingten This is my Dad you're slammin. He was married for over 60 years, raised four kids took care of grandkids too. He was a Christian, not perfect, because only Jesus is, but he was not a leach. Anyone who knew him, knows that he was one of the finest men God ever created, never spoke ill of anyone, no, not even you JoeDavid Brown, and never carried tales, and he raised me to be Christian. Find me one Christian who is perfect and I'll show you a lier.

@packingten I'm not sure what you're driving toward. Are you channeling that Speedy was a gospel performer and therefore too Godly to do such things?
I can point out the some of the most lecherous people I've met were gospel singers.
Are saying that even though he may have done something wrong, it was really someone else's fault?
My mother taught me otherwise. You and my mother don't agree.

@JoeDavidBrown a Little note here, Speedy played in a Gospel Group called the Goodwill Trio not to long before he passed away. I was also a Ladies man back when and along with Speedy a true miracle I wasn't killed by a jealous Husband didn't look for Married ones but they always seem to find another man....Not always the Man's fault

@lordkoos I play a 97 strat plus I get tols all of the time it sounds like a Gretsch It has Lace Sensor pick ups.
I use 9/46 strings but I think some of the warm tone comes from my Dan Electro Delay an ANALOG.... a vintage Guitar dealer told me most Pro's are playing 90's era Strats they're a lot quieter than old ones mine has tremelo stabilizer on it strap locks, roller nut at top of neck,Sorry I'm a Pro and I would like to have some Olds ones to sell but would never pick one.
-
he must have been influenced by Les Paul.........except for the Strat tone he is doing Les Paul
-
Dont forget it was those great 1950 tube amps also.
-
Those old-style heavy guage nickel strings make the tone warmer... plus the old Fenders sound don't sound so tinny like the newer ones do.

Link Wray? There are numerous guitarists one could name as predecessors of modern rockers - guitarists with chops comparable to Speedy Haworth - Jimmy Bryant, Django Reinhardt, Hank Garland, etc. Talk about Cliff Gallup, Carl Perkins, Matt Murphy, T-Bone, Roy Lanham, Barney Kessell, Les Paul ...but Link Wray?
I suppose for just that primitive rawness he had something to offer, but he wouldn't be the first name of a player I'd associate to that of Speedy Haworth.

before the age of speeding master such as jimi hendrix, stevie ray vaughan yngwie, joe, vai, herman li and others, there was this speedy haworth and link wray.
