the only pop prodigy ever. just incredible.

I just discovered an old recorded interview wherein Kate discusses this particular demo, stating that she was 15yrs old at the time. The interviewer asks if he may play it and she replies, "I think I will shut my ears."

@MissLinaSapphire I have multiple bootleg demos of Kate and this song is titled "A Rose Growing Old" on every one of them. Just wanted to say.

"Waltz" makes more sense because she plays a waltz rhythym just as she sings the word...
-
It's a beautiful song - thank you for posting.
To PiperCrab and particularly the linguist kiwehtin ... I'm pretty sure Kate sings "waltz". I may not have your knowledge of English dialects, but listen to how the music changes to a waltz at 0:42, 1:30 and 2:25 .. it's a bit of a give-away, don't you think?
But anyway, let's just enjoy the beauty.
-
@PiperCrab ...and i agree!

I still say it's 'rose'---makes more sense since dances cannot grow old. Plus, if you listen to the lyrics you will understand that 'rose' is more suited to what is being sung than waltz.

I haven't been able to find this on any CD. I have it for ten years or so now, thanks to the internet, but I wonder why she never put it on an album. It's so lovely.

what year was this recorded?
She's pronouncing it correctly, you're just interpreting it incorrectly.
It's 'And I'm feeling like a waltz, growing old' not rose.

Kate Bush is as gentle as a dove in this heartfelt song. She has such an amazing range in her music, even during her early years. Thank you again XxXscarletsatineXxX.
