El Dorado County, CA (April 27, 2013)

Hundreds of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints worked on projects all over El Dorado County Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m. to noon as part of the Mormon Helping Hands campaign.

Church members and community volunteers worked on projects ranging from cleanup, general maintenance, painting, planting trees and even construction jobs. The project locations were:

Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma for clean up, upgrading benches, wood splitting and stacking, and minor repairs.

Camino Elementary School, 3060 Snows Road, Camino for painting inside the gym, painting classroom doors, and repairing picnic tables, benches and rails.

Blue Oak Elementary School, 2391 Merrychase Drive, Cameron Park for cleanup.

Camerado Middle School, 2480 Merrychase Drive, Cameron Park for cleanup.

Green Valley Elementary School, 2380 Bass Lake Road, Rescue for cleanup.

Ponderosa High School, 3661 Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs for cleanup.

Herbert Green Middle School, 3781 Forni Road, Placerville for cleanup.

Miller's Hill School, 7900 South Shingle Road, Latrobe for repairing the running track, doing cement work, and general cleanup.

Georgetown Park in Georgetown for replacing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access area, upper beams in gazebo, top railings in bridges and clearing walkway between Main Street and Buffalo Hill.

El Dorado Community Hall, 6139 Pleasant Valley Road, El Dorado for landscaping.

Working with A Brush With Kindness in doing cleanup for a home in need of assistance in Somerset.

This year's Organizer was Camino resident Sue Taylor. "Mormon Helping Hands is a great way for individuals and families to connect to the community and make it a better place to live. We welcome everyone to come out and join us," she said.
