It has been 4 years since the filming of this video. I find it hilarious that this is how I will always remember Dallas Center - outrageous freedom. That year was a blast. Glad there was a way to memorialize it. This very well may have been the last time I ever go dancing down the street in my whites. Thankful to have remembered this today. Epic.

I always have found this to be quite amusing. You guys really did a great job. It kind of makes me feel old though as I remember when this song was first played on a "smash" or "trash" segment of a radio show in the Summer of 1983. Obviously It became an enormous "SMASH"!

Love it. Boys dancing in the streets of a small midwest town in their underwear? Doesn't get much better. Next time i bet they get the whole basketball team to join them lol

So, this is what corn fed boys from Iowa do for fun....hmmmmm...I think I want to move to Iowa
The first amature re-production of the 1982 hit song "Safety Dance" was made in 1984 by four high school students from Edison, New Jersey and appeared on MTV later that year. It was shot on an 8mm home movie camera and ran 3 minutes and 10 seconds. For the past 24 years, high school and college students around the world have been remaking this classic. The four teens from Edison, NJ are now in their early 40's. I was one of them.
I am glad to see the torch passes on.
