  • @djchriscanada the idea of a homeless gay teen shelter in Mr. Ford's ward would make his head explode. I would love to watch that with a big bowl of popcorn.

  • I want David Miller back now please...

  • @grandmagetyergun Better yet, a homeless gay teen shelter with lots of bike lanes leading to it. All built by asian people. Rob Ford would probably get so stressed out about the idea that he'd eat himself.

  • whats the last word he said? i dont get it

  • @davejsmith No one is going to call them out because the issues has been swept under the rug, The urban changes to Toronto make street living very difficult for the homeless. Affordable housing is they key to everything, because homelessness may not only be a housing issue but its always a housing issue. If you want proof of success go look up the S2H program and whats its done through open affordable housing, then get back to me.

  • @MajorDickVaud The people voting "YES" for funding affordable housing are also the main problem. We can only start helping the homeless if the people in city council are held responsible for the current failed programs they passed. Millions going to waste.

  • @davejsmith Why wouldn't you want to deal with it? You have an entire segment of the population with unstable housing, they aren't homeless yet but without affordable housing that could easily change and if you think the money spent of programs is bad think of the cost related to healthcare, child services, incarceration fees. (CAST) spends 12 million dollars a year taking children away due to unstable housing situations.

  • @MajorDickVaud I personally have seen the issue first hand and don't think Ford needs to deal with it. Just imagine, the past government had the nerve to fund many projects to help people in need, only to have empty units due to government mismanagement.

  • @davejsmith I'm not for homeless shelters, I'm for affordable housing except the insane exclusionary zoning laws in Canada make getting it nearly impossible. And btw if you took some time to review the research you would find that the majority of people using shelters are battered women and the elderly who no longer have a support network. And shelters are a poor substitute for affordable housing. Since 1999 this issue has been swept under the rug and Ford wont deal with it.

  • @MajorDickVaud You are misinformed. The city of Toronto is wasting millions on the homeless shelter issue. The reason I say wasting, is that the money spent never reaches the people that need it. We rented 2 floors of a hotel that stayed empty, we bought transportation vans that had no drivers, we had a subsidized housing program that was poorly managed and many lost homes. The RPD was something I worked on... 6 years of work and finally with Fords help, we financed the project.

  • Rob Ford is a genius with great ideas. Just imagine this idea to reduce city spending to an affordable level. Just imagine, city workers are making a lot more then private workers. Rob Ford is keeping us accountable and it seems to be something most of us hate.
