Cleveland airport track is great. Car's can race side by side even in corners. At the start, da Matta took the position followed by Franchitti and Carpentier. At the back of the pack, Takagi hit Vasser... Dominguez and Bell were doomed by this incident. Cleveland is the longest road course in terms of times. In addition, it is hard on transmissions because there's many bump in break and acceleration zones. da Matta retires before the first pit stop on engine problems. In this race, Vasser and Kanaan were due to meet... For another race, one of the Team Green cars (Franchitti) lost a camera. This was Carpentier's day. He starts second.
