Thank you very *very* much for your wunderful demo! It gives a good idea what can be done with an OSCar. Some FX Sounds and a bit more "additive Synthesis" would have been nice. The filter sound is great. Sadly its a nightmare to service the OSCar.

i use to own this synth the thing about it is it can go Rusty inside and cost a lot of money to fix so i sole it on before it messed up but it is a very bad ass synth

Very nice demo ;)
Too short, because i would listen to this synth for hours :D
There are few synths so ahead of their time, and keeping their uniqueness...

I had a Syrinx, MiniMoog E, Odyssey MK I, Pro One, MS-20, SH-5 and sell them all, keep only the OSCar. Why? The OSCar beats them all, believe it or not, this thing is a beast, maybe only beaten by the Steiner Parker Synthacon.

The OSCar looks great and sounds great!

I think we've all had a few we regret letting go. My regret is selling an early R.A minimoog..very foolish decision. Just got my OSCar back from servicing though and can see why you regret letting it go. I don't think I've owned such a truely monsterous sounding monosynth. Can't get over the fact that it's from 1984..so ahead of it's time!
yet again you've nailed a perfect demo amongst lots of rubbish Oscar vids! This is what vintagesynth com OSCar page should be directing people to.
btw did you find your OSCar prety reliable or did it need lots of attention? Reason I ask is I've just picked one up and hoping after a service it won't give me any major unreliabilty issues.....(wishful thinking)

Cheers. Never had a single issue with mine whilst I had it. Although, it arrvied in good condition, recently serviced by the previous owner. It's a great synth, very unique and one I should never have let go.....!

Can't post links in here but item Nos. are 300467670314 (US) and 260678249972 (UK) but they're not cheap ! £1,200 - £1,400 is more the norm for these.

Somebody's trying to sell one of these on EBAY this month (AUGUST 2010) for $4,000.
I wouldn't pay $2,000 for one of these (though the patch between 1:33-1:36 sounds somewhat interesting).

$4,000 is a joke. Paid £450 for mine and sold it for £900 two years ago. Now, probably go for around £1,200. Just a case of waiting for one to come up, they do every now and again from 'realistic' sellers.
