I have listened to Kris and Adam singing this live.

Then I listened to their recordings. kris wasn't any better than when he sang it live. Adam's was sooo.......... much better, vocal-wise and the arrangement-wise.

I hate the way Kris ends it. I also feel sorry for him having to follow Adam (on tour). There's just no way he can. Adam is the whole package.

Okay, yeah, i just looked back and watched the finale and he definitely did better with it then. good catch. and its definitely not adam's style. also, the song itself kind of sucks haha so i don't know why i'm even bothering to comment

If you listened to him sing this song after he won he did much better with it because they started it out with a lower note. I agree the range fits Adam more which is probably why they chose it. I think AI was trying to rig the win for Adam. But I think it backfired because I agree with Randy. The style of the song does fit Kris Allen better and Kris actually got more record sales than Adam believe it or not. More people bought Kris' version.

Paula's quote "You have a unique way of Allenizing your trademark on every song that you sing, that is the true markings of a great artist". Adam & Kris were the only two contestants that were "unique" that way. Adam was different because there was no one else like him before on Idol. But in entertainment industry, he really isn't that unique. Black hair & eyeliner has been done before. His style of singing has been done before. If Kris isn't an artist then Adam isn't.
