@ShitFromShinolla I have considered doing the same as I have a small lathe...But decided trying it on the idler pulley instead on one of my BSR decks...I have plenty of spare idlers...It did the job though...But did take ages to do!! If you have a scope and inverter try measuring your mains power and try running one on an inverter...I'm sure you'll be surprised!!!

@ShitFromShinolla The Dynatron really does run silent and yes you are correct it is driven by an idler wheel under the turntable...All the table top decks I have are the same...As long as the idler wheel or (jockey wheel) as we call it is not perished or shiny they are fine! I use NO filters at all on Audacity...You can hear that these decks run silent from the audio on my camera. Although the Ultra does make a noise like a quiet V8 running for the first few mins when very cold...haha!!!

@GarrardAT6 Garrard turntables run at correct RPM but BSR's do not. I usually correct the BSR speed problem by filing down the motor shaft and reducing it's diameter. It is a tedious process because it requires constant strobe testing. If the circumference of the shaft is reduced too much the platter will run too slow and that can't be corrected. : )

@GarrardAT6 Continued...If you find a deck that runs fast there is little or nothing you can do!
But if you try using the ones that seem to run fast on a mains power inverter I'm sure you will find as I do that they play at the correct speed!! Its not their fault that modern electricity does them no good..Poor old things...haha!!

@GarrardAT6 Maybe the amp in your Dynatron is of much higher quality as to compensate for the poor quality output of the typical ceramic cartridge. I don't believe Dynatron was ever available in the US. Did you use any sort of sound filter option in your Audacity software while transferring the audio? I am familiar with this model Garrard turntable, it is idler wheel not belt driven correct? It's extremely quiet - nearly no motor hum which would be distinct from amplifier hum.

@ShitFromShinolla Ok...I'll leave it up...But I've changed the title :)
Don't start me on running fast! I have a dispute going with the power company over here now!
The reason some run fast is because they were made for 50HZ mains (60HZ) for you.
Our power now seems to be 52HZ and the BSR and Monarch decks suffer the most!
I have no problem with BSR cartridges though...They seem to play the older records much better than modern ones (for me) All 3 of these records are in 'as new' condition :)
Awsome 5/5 from me not a flaw..in my opinion.
