i finally understand this.. somebody said earlier in the movie that a mermaid's kiss means that a sailor can't drown, so they live together underwater. :)

a better after credits scene wouldve been showing what happend to them after this. Heres an idea of a ending scene i think wouldve been awesome: they show both of them swimming underwater with Philip all healed up n watever and then they pass by this deep part of the ocean thats a lil blurry but then the camera stops an zooms in enough to see the figure of a ship resting deep below the ocean, a ship that clearly resembles non other than the Flying Dutchman!
