I don't get why people are bashing Geoff on his singing. They're a post-hardcore PUNK band. It's punk, not really known for having the best singers out there.

@SaetiaRaein so true man, since I heard this side of brightness back in like 2000 there really is something special, true, sincere and inspiring about this band. 97-2011 they had an amazing ride man i listen to their stuff all the time its amazing.

what a performance.

Never will this type of passion be replicated. This love, this energy, can only be contained within a vessel of truest form. It's contagious however. Anyone who is truly moved by this, who can feel something turn deep within themselves, be it envy, or self belonging, can have this power. Every contagion has a host. Thursday will forever move me. I don't know about you guys. This is a way of life.

@ohsnapitseli Um....I'm a Tool fan and I agree with you....

@ohsnapitseli While I'm with you in defending Thursday, I wouldn't quote TheDreamMechanic back with 'banal, palatable mediocrity' as an apt description of their music taste. They've mentioned Tool as a band they love, and they're certainly not mediocre.
-
@TheDreamMechanic Whilst this wasn't Thursday's best performance, for one thing they seemed to play it too fast, Geoff didn't miss every single note in this song, and while it perhaps could have been better in places, he did look pretty exhausted. I wouldn't write Thursday off as being banal at all, quite the opposite, but nor am I just gonna respond by criticizing your music suggestions because I love Tool and definitely haven't given them enough listens.
-
It's not that I'm pretentious. Not at all, really. I just know what good music is.
This music is lame, brother. Sorry.
p.s. Not being able to hit A SINGLE NOTE in an entire song does not equate to being a "fantastic vocalist."
-
@TheDreamMechanic you obviously listen to Tool, because only a Tool fan would spout so much pretentious bullshit in one post. Thursday is one of the best bands around these days, and they certainly connect with me on an emotional level more than Tool and Alice in Chains EVER did. Btw, Geoff Rickly is a fantastic vocalist, and I don't understand how you could even consider this a bad vocal performance.
"Banal, palatable mediocrity"... you perfectly described your own music taste! Good job.
This is so great! I love Thursday and they deserve a waaaay better crowd
