Unless there are controls, it would easily become the local junkyard.

  • @mikeadever

lol...so it's not a really really free market then is it?

  • @RetSquid no people bring items they no longer need but are still useable. junk belongs in the trash, goods that can be re-used should be given away and shared with the community. this reduces the needless over production and consumption of products that use finite natural resources to make.

  • @PersianPaladin no it couldnt because no one would let that happen. try using your brain.

  • @JaysThoughts no capitalism by its very definition is about PRIVATE PROPERTY OVER THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION. that means capitalists own the means of production and grant laborers access to it which they may do by any (arguably) non-coercive means they so deem (through a wage, by taking a percentage, by selling it to them, etc.). by the formation of advanced capitalist business structures, however, the "work for a boss or starve" way of life has emerged, leaving few in control of the labor of many.

  • @eboyd32 In capitalism both the means of production and distribution and all property rights belong to any individual willing to do the work.

  • @JaysThoughts no. wrong. communists support an end to private property OVER THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION (which is the definition of capitalism), not your PERSONAL property, in the form of workers' control over the means of production (socialism) with the trait of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his labor" (communism).

  • @JaysThoughts

In communism one has to pay for his water, house, land, food... just like in capitalism. GIFT ECONOMY is about GIVING and SHARING that can make all 7 billion people immediately rich! Equal welth doesn't mean equal persons - individuality can exist!

Working for FREE is motivating - LOOK WIKIPEDIA!

  • Stripping away of socioeconomic status. Maybe of class and wealth and..oh I don't know, individual property rights. Really streamline it. Form a distribution system to get this stuff to people. A system to determine the distribution of wealth. For the community. To turn this commune into a total commune-ism. Stop people from thinking harder work should be rewarded. Make us all ... "equal". ....Scary.

  • This is quite silly.

A dump truck could just come and collect all the stuff and hoard it.
