This was the first stop on the old carousel theater attraction Meet the World from Tokyo Disneyland. Notice: it's in Japanese.

  • Thank you for uploading.

I really wanted this movie. I really miss this song... Meet the World with love

  • Yes, in fact it was originally built for Epcot. According to what I've read, Epcot's version was aborted for two reasons 1: there was some kind of problem with the building the show was going to be housed in (wasn't big enough or something) and 2: the darker parts of Japanese history (i.e., World War II) were glossed over and Disney felt American viewers would be offended.

  • this ended up just like america sings, demolished, but america sings was transformed into innoventions after demolishion but innoventions wasn't a carousel theater show, it was an attraction with interactive exhibits. Geez, I sure hope the wdw carousel of progres doesn't end up being demolished like Meet the World and America Sings.

  • Fun fact for animation buffs: the animation of the crane in this show was the last known animation done by legendary Disney veteran Marc Davis, who'd been working at the studio since the 1930's. (for reference, this show was opened in 1983.)

  • It was. The empty unused rotationg animatronics stage is still at the back of the Japan Pavilion collecting dust to this day...

  • Wasnt this supposed to be part of the Japan Showcase at Epcot ?

  • its sad it closed and will be replaced by monsters inc.

  • I remember that... I was there in 2000, and it was awesome..

  • This has become one of my favorite attractions i'll never get to experience. Even though I HAD THE CHANCE. I've been visiting Tokyo since 1999, and I was in TDL before the thing was closed. I just never heard of it at the time.

  • OMG i miss this...i was talking about this attraction the other day...
