Believing in E'Stephan

E'Stephan Garcia battled his way up from a life of drugs and drinking and hanging with gang members to become a physician. The young man, who graduated third from the bottom of his high school class, enlisted in the Army to escape a life that could easily have ended in death. He won an appointment to West Point and distinguished himself. Yet when it came time to realize his dream of becoming a doctor, the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine was the only place willing to believe in him. He rewarded that belief becoming a leader among his classmates. This seven-minute video chronicles a redemptive journey from the streets to the stars and illustrates in moving fashion the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine's educational mission.
