3dsMax 2009 saw the introduction of the ViewCube. This useful tool can be used to quickly and easily change your view angle with the click of a button. In this video, we will look at how to use the ViewCube, as well as how to change a few options and configure the ViewCube as we see fit.
RIGHT to use the view cube - Go to start menu, all programs, autodesk then change graphics mode, go from direct x 10 to direct x9 - When 3d's max opens, go to Viewport config, and go to viewcube and select the viewcube :]

I figured it out, but Iget the same thing with other things too, like changing the bitmap texture size in viewports or the anti-aliasing, even in dx9 mode

i am using 3ds max 2010. i dont know whats going on. i cant see the viewcube. i go to Viewpoint configuration and check Show the Viewcube, then press ok. nothings happen, when go back to the setting, it is unchecked. no matter how many times i check, it just uncheck it.
