The Hurtgen Forest was a killing field for which both the Americans and Germans paid dearly for. Unlike a lot of other battles on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, the Battle Of The Hurtgen Forest is one that there is little hype about. Despite its ferociousness. This diorama is my most recent. Living in Canada gave me a wealth of information on evergreen forests, their look and undergrowth. This is the first diorama to feature trees exclusively made by myself. The photograpging of this diorama was especially challenging due to all the trees. At one point I had to remove some just to photograph some of the soldiers! If you have any questions on how I make my dioramas, I will attempt to answer them but please be patient and some I may not answer - sorry. I hope you enjoy the video. Beetstreet

  • this iant scale 1:72 right? your vid made me try to make mine.

iam dutch and live near the german border the hurtgenwald is just half an hour away from here

i love how you done the forrest seems very real

  • @bleushift Thank you. The scale is a blend of 1 35th and 1 32nd. It's actually quite large but not my biggest.

  • Great diorama but there weren't falshrmjagers in the Hurtgen Forest

  • @tucoakatherat Thank you for the compliment. When you get the chance look into the 3rd Fallschirmjäger Division, it's involvement in the Ardennes Offensive and the Hurtgen Forest. Hope that helps with some clarification in regards to this diorama. Thanks again, Beetstreet

  • Is that good BC bud you're using for bushes?

  • @CarlOlav That would make it worth a fortune and probably put me in jail - lol. Greetings from Canada!!!
