On the new re-released album Last Time I saw him from the early 70'ies are some Bonus Tracks - and this is one of them- My favorite song - originally by Chris Clark - a great cover exist by Truly Smith also on Youtube ;)
Diana was recording so much so often during this period most of it never got released. But everything she recorded was of much interest creatively, to her credit.
I've loved this song for decades, Chris Clarke's version is the definitive one for me, but I love hearing Motown artists doing each others songs it just adds other dimension to them though I had never heard Diana's version before. Berry's vision for his artists and their music was to get the best product that he could and we are the lucky beneficiaries.
Nice, but Chris Clark's version which came out first was much better and should have and would have hit the top of the charts if given more air-play, a masterpiece.
this is hotter than any of the other version because diana is rapping during part of the song.

Although good, Chris Clark's version was better. Not to say that Diana, is less of the artist though.
