That was a very well spoken introduction. I was already a fan of Mr. Browne's music, but I was very pleased to hear how a fellow musician and good friend of Mr. Browne viewed his work as a songwriter. Thank You Mr. Springsteen.

This is one of the best written speeches I've ever heard.
I fell in love with The Boss a little that night.
And my love continues to grow for all that Jackson Browne continues to do.

Singer/Songwriters from the 70's in my opinion, were more about making beautiful songs with meaningful lyrics rather than being 'an entertainer'. Being a teen and growing up listening to Carole King, Carly SImon, Jackson Browne and Joni Mitchell, etc...Putting on a performance simply meant singing the songs...not so big on interaction with the audience. Now..there's much more focus on the main performer also 'dancing' and interacting with the audience.
