I remember mistaking this film's title for "Ow Crisis", in other words stubbing your toe or something.

Someday is one of those widely accepted mistakes though. Like "decimate", so the generally understood meaning is incorrect but becomes correct by popular acclaim.

as to the "excepted" issue, maybe it's that their relationship won't be seen by others as exceptional and that's what the owl wants.
p.s. "some day" is two words, not one as well. but then i thought maybe that's kinda like the Professor saying that their relationship might happen this saturday (saturday is samedi in French) but because she has a telly for a head, her French accent is a little unusual and it comes out as someday not samedi
