The Music of Lee Eisenstein and Lionel Standish Records

Here's me playing one of the most recognizable pieces in the classical guitar literature, Asturias, (Layenda), by Issac Albeniz. The location is in the beach town of Gorgona, Panama
at the La Ruina Bar and Restaurant.

Robby Krieger of the Doors immortalized this piece by starting out their song, "Spanish Caravan" with it.

It's originally a piano piece, but we guitarists own it now! (Ok, it still sounds great on the piano).

La Ruina is a beautiful place, the owners are super people and their barbecue chicken is delicioso and onolicious to da max, (delicious)!

I"ve recorded two cd's on my Lionel Standish Records label and seven cd's with pan flute/historical woodwind virtuoso (and old surf buddy) Brad White.

Our duo, "White Eisenstein" won Hawaii's "Grammy", the Hoku Hanohano Award, performed hundreds of gigs, concerts and were featured in many television specials in Hawaii and Japan. We recorded seven internationally marketed cd's that have been enjoyed by millions.

We've starting working on two new White Eisenstein cd's that will be out in '09. It's been over ten years since our last duo release and a big mahalo to all the folks who've requested we record more White Eisenstein music over the years.

We're excited about the new music and think folks will be very happy to hear our new material.

Be sure and check our websites for release info and downloads!

Please visit my website where I have my two most recent cd's, information and upcoming new music.

Aloha!

  • Nothing more frustrating than playing your heart out, and people are rudely talking their heads off, acting like you are not even there.

I've been there, done that, and it was no fun.

Through the rudeness I could still hear your great playing, though.

  • Mahalo (thank you). Yep, playing to a drunk crowd isn't exactly ideal, but this was a great group of people and it actually was a fun evening. The turnout for the performance and dinner packed the place, much to the owners astonishment. A group of Panamanian musicians also showed up and played a set.

Thanks again for your kind comments and glad you enjoyed the performance.

  • You are playing too good for a noisy apathetic crowd.

  • Mahalo Kevin.

    At your leisure.

  • I would be honored.

But be patient....its not easy dealing with my old film library. And of course we must have the right image/music marriage for those demanding YOUTUBE connoisseurs.

  • Mahalo Kevin!

Yes, the Big Island is pretty abfab. No traffic and it looks & feels like Hawaii back in the day.

How about putting together a youtube video/slideshow of some of your photo's along with "Voices in the Wind", "Tears of Gold" or "Marlene's Dream"?

  • The wonderful "FLYING (Girl on a Swing)" from your classic New Age album "Songs for a Dreamer" was just a natural for the alpine chapter in the movie "FUN WITH HANS ON DBAHN"

Looks like the move to the Big Island was the right one. Was that your Hoku award over your right shoulder?

Thanks Lee.....looking forward to hearing your new cds.

    Aloha from Manoa

  • Mahalo!

Will definitely check out the Dbahn video.

The videos from La Ruina were done with a small camera, so the quality could be better for sure.

I'm getting ready to release several new cd's with pan flute virtuoso, Brad White and will post some higher quality videos then and additional ones as time goes by.

    Thanks again & Aloha!

  • Such virtuosity deserves better photography.

Check out "FUN WITH HANS ON DBAHN"

  • Mahalo, (thank you).

Yes and most of them were drunk too! Still it was a fun night.

They did quiet down from time to time.
