Are you just saying that this cover was better or it was just more famous ( which I do not doubt). I love nina simone's but screamin jay hawkins was incredible and very under appreciated.

Actually this wasn't a Ray Charles. The original is Screamin Jay Hawkins song. However it was Nina Simone who owned it when she sang it!
Sometimes the cover far exceeds the original and this song, done by Nina Simone is the God spoken truth.
